DALSolution technological development
(1998-2002)
Development of DALSolution products brand on the basis of DALSolution 4.0 (1998-1999)
- DALS-4.5 (for the same segments) which develop the technological capability of DALSolution 4.0 (end of 1998).
- Non-expensive super-mass DALSolution versions for educational purposes of engineers and managers (second half of 1998).
- Adapted DALSolution versions for medicine, sociology, marketing (1998-1999).
- DALS-financial for short-term forecast of currencies and stocks in the online mode(1998-1999)
- Specialized version for mobile users (Handheld PCs)
- Inclusion of DALSolution into the integrated solutions for industrial platforms like Oracle, Microsoft, Sybase, Informix, IBM (first experience - 1998).
Development of the analytical databases (1998-2002)
Analytical databases is a highly perspective direction in DALS-technology development.
Analytical database = DAL-technology + relational database functionality We plan to develop this direction in DALSolution 5.x series. DALSolution 5.0 is in our plans by the middle of 1999.
The goals of DALSolution
development
Our goal was to create an instrument attractive for businesses, management and scientific research. We understood that this was a challenging task, and it could be solved only by relying on original solutions in programming technology, user interfaces, and underlying mathematics. We managed to succeed, because we possess all three of these components.
Our clients have varying interests, but their tasks are similar. Many are pressured by the difficulty of comprehending statistical techniques. With DALSolution, we now offer our clients analytical problem solving technology that is transparent, easy to understand, and attractive for users with both technical and non-technical background.
Development tools and
programming technology elements
- Operation systems: DOS (1989-1995), Windows 3.0 (1991), Windows 95/98, Windows NT.
- Development tools: C, C++, MS Visual C++ (v. 4.X, 5.0, 6.0), MS Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications, Borland Delphi, IntraBuilder, Java, MS SQL Server, MS Access, MS FoxPro, MS FrontPage, MS Excel, etc.)
- Programming technology elements: Active X, ODBC, DAO, ADO, COM, DCOM, OLE, OLE DB, HTML, DHTML.
When your task is not to “apply a particular method”, but to instead achieve a useful result, DALSolution is open to clients’ needs. This is our advantage. Knowing this, we pursue contacts with end users. Our strategy is simple: we advise clients on how they can solve their problems with DALSolution, and this contact, once established, leads to a success rate of nearly 100%. We are further expanding this successful strategy.
In 1999, the DALSolution package is already being distributed in Scandinavian countries, the United States and Australia. We are completing a German version of the package. A Spanish version will be developed in the nearest future.
The DALSolution of 1999-2000 begins a new class of database management systems, combining the advantages of relational databases with the capabilities of the analysis of rules. Innovations will include: internet-based analysis of rules, a range of market-specific and task-specific software solutions and toolkits for third parties (system integrators, software developers) that facilitate inclusion of DAL analytical capabilities in other information systems and packages.
